Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, directly inspected the production process of electric motorcycles and the conversion of petrol-powered motorcycles into electric vehicles during a working visit to the United E-Motor Plant 3 facility in Curug, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Friday (26/6). The visit was part of the government’s support for accelerating the development of the national electric vehicle ecosystem while strengthening the clean energy-based automotive industry in Indonesia.

While at the factory, Gibran observed various stages of the manufacturing process, from component assembly and product quality testing to the conversion of petrol-powered motorcycles into electric vehicles carried out by certified workers. The inspection reflected the government’s attention to the development of the domestic electric vehicle industry, including increasing the use of local components, strengthening technological innovation, and enhancing national industrial competitiveness.

United E-Motor Plant 3 is a production facility owned by PT Terang Dunia Internusa Tbk that supports national electric vehicle development. In addition to producing new electric motorcycles, the factory also provides motorcycle conversion services in accordance with applicable regulations. Through this facility, the company seeks to deliver more environmentally friendly mobility solutions while strengthening the national electric vehicle industry.

Director of PT Terang Dunia Internusa Tbk, Henry Mulyadi, expressed appreciation for the Vice President’s visit, which he said serves as encouragement for the company to continue developing innovations in the electric vehicle sector. “It is an honour for us to receive the Vice President’s visit at the United E-Motor Plant 3. This visit motivates us to continue innovating in delivering quality electric vehicle products and technology and to support government programmes in accelerating the transition towards cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable mobility,” Henry stated.

According to him, the company will continue to increase production capacity, expand the use of domestic components, and develop electric motorcycle conversion services to make them more accessible to the public. The development of conversion services is considered a strategic step to accelerate electric vehicle adoption without requiring the public to replace all their existing vehicles.

Through this visit, it is hoped that synergy between the government and industry players will grow stronger in accelerating the growth of the national electric vehicle ecosystem. This collaboration is also expected to encourage the birth of new innovations, strengthen the national automotive industry, and support the government’s target of reducing carbon emissions through the development of more environmentally friendly transportation. United E-Motor is optimistic it can continue to contribute by providing innovative electric vehicle products and services, while supporting the development of green industry and sustainable energy transition in Indonesia.
