Vice President Gibran Ensures All Elements Maximised to Tackle Forest and Land Fires

Banjarbaru (ANTARA) - The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, has ensured that all elements are maximising efforts to tackle forest and land fires (karhutla) in accordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto.

“Everyone must move, coordinate closely, and strengthen synergy,” he stated while visiting the Forest and Land Fire Monitoring Post in Guntung Damar, Banjarbaru, on Thursday.

Gibran revealed that the government has undertaken all necessary measures to ensure that forest and land fires in Kalimantan are fully under control. In South Kalimantan, for instance, several logistical aid packages from the President for fire prevention and management have been distributed.

These supplies include 50 units of water pump machines, 30 sets of water pumps, 19 crates of masks, and two crates of bucket pumps (3 assy). Furthermore, the Indonesian Ministry of Defence and the Indonesian Air Force Medical Centre (Puskes TNI AU) have sent hundreds of pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) and masks for the officers on duty.

Regarding these facilities and infrastructure, the Vice President assessed that the logistical support is highly adequate. “We are grateful for the hard work of the officers in the field, supported by community volunteers,” he added.
