Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has expressed strong support for strengthening the capacity of the younger generation during the opening of the Global Hindu Business Conference (GHBC) 2026 at the Indonesian Hindu University (UNHI) in Denpasar. He stated that the demographic bonus must be utilised through improving human resource quality, mastering technology, and expanding cross-sector collaboration.

The event was organised in collaboration with UNHI, the Global Hindu Entrepreneur Network (GHEN), Prajaniti Hindu Indonesia, the State Hindu University (UHN) I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar, and supported by the Bali Convention and Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB). Vice President Gibran congratulated the organisers on convening the international business conference, which brought together around 200 participants from 10 countries.

Running for three days under the theme ‘Towards Dharmanomics: Designing the Future’, GHBC 2026 gathered entrepreneurs, investors, diplomats, academics, professionals, and organisational leaders from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, the United States, Australia, and Mauritius. Attendees included GHEN Chairman Dato’ Pardip K. Kukreja, who also serves as Executive Chairman of Paradise Group of Companies, as well as leaders from Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) and UNHI Rector Dr. Cokorda Gde Bayu Putra.

‘Young Indonesian Hindus have a strategic role and potential in the context of the demographic momentum to increase national productivity,’ Vice President Gibran said. He emphasised that the younger generation must be able to harness technological developments while venturing into strategic sectors, from the creative economy to green industry. He therefore strongly supports initiatives that create opportunities for discussion and collaboration aimed at increasing the capacity of Indonesia’s youth.

Gibran noted that the government under President Prabowo Subianto is committed to strengthening human resource quality through various programmes, including Sekolah Rakyat, Sekolah Garuda, the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP), artificial intelligence training, school revitalisation, free nutritious meals, free health check-ups, LPDP scholarships, and the National Internship Programme. ‘I believe that with hard work and strong collaboration between the government, businesses, academics, community organisations, and all elements of society, the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision can be realised together,’ he stated.

GHEN Chairman Dato’ Pardip K. Kukreja explained that the conference was designed as a platform to strengthen global business networks based on the values of Dharma, integrity, and responsible leadership. The international conference brought together around 200 participants from 10 countries to build business networks, investment, and economic collaboration rooted in Hindu values. Beyond discussing investment and trade, GHBC 2026 also promotes the concept of Dharmanomics, an economic development model that places ethics, sustainability, and shared prosperity as its core foundation.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa assessed that the forum also opens opportunities for developing the wellness tourism sector in Indonesia. She noted that Bali’s natural beauty, culture, spirituality, and traditions are significant assets to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a world-class wellness tourism destination. The committee also provided 100 free quotas for undergraduate and postgraduate Hindu students to attend the entire conference series, aiming to broaden young people’s horizons and provide access to international networks and investment opportunities. In addition to strengthening global business networks, the conference is projected to deliver economic impact for the tourism, MSME, hospitality, transportation, and MICE industries in Bali.
