Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta was filled with worshippers attending the Eid al-Adha prayers on Wednesday (27 May), the 1447 Hijriah calendar. Attendees entered through various gates, with queues not excessively long. Upon arrival, they proceeded to the Al-Fattah Gate to enter the mosque area. By 06:25 WIB, worshippers continued to arrive, mostly accompanied by family members.

Some individuals offered black plastic bags to visitors for storing footwear before entering the prayer area. The ablution area outside the building also had manageable queues.

Security at the entrances was tightened, with baggage screened using X-ray machines before entry into the mosque.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka arrived around 06:55 WIB and immediately greeted senior officials already present. He was accompanied by ministers from the Red and White Cabinet and high-ranking state officials, taking position at the front row of the prayer line.

Among the senior officials present were Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, and Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Sultan Najamuddin.

The prayer session also saw representatives from friendly nations. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar previously stated President Prabowo Subianto had been scheduled to attend but instead embarked on a state visit to France.

“Clearly, the Vice President and high-ranking state officials will proceed with Eid al-Adha prayers at Istiqlal Mosque,” Nasaruddin said during a visit to check preparations on Tuesday (26 May). He advised worshippers to arrive by 04:00 WIB, stating, “People can start entering from 4am, and I urge all worshippers to arrive early as Eid al-Adha usually causes traffic congestion.”
