Gibran conveyed this after inspecting the MRT Phase 2A North-South Line construction project in the Harmoni area, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
Gibran inspected the project accompanied by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, and MRT Jakarta’s President Director Tuhiyat.
“Thank you, Mr Director, along with the team, and especially the construction team, the construction workers here numbering around 3,800. Thank you for working morning, afternoon, and night so that the construction progress here can be on schedule,” he said.
“Thank you also to the Governor and the Transport Minister; this is collaborative work. To realise safe, comfortable, integrated public transportation, it requires synergy between central and regional governments, including support from the agglomeration area,” he continued.
Vice President Gibran stated that the MRT project development is a collaboration between the central and regional governments. So far, construction progress has reached 59 percent.
It is targeted, Gibran said, that by the end of 2027, the MRT route from Bundaran HI to Monas will be connected and operational.
“The construction progress has reached 59 percent; by the end of 2027, HI-Monas will be connected and operational, then by the end of 2029, it will connect to the Kota station,” Gibran explained.
