Vice Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri), Ribka Haluk, has emphasised that education is the main key to improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources (SDM). According to her, massive infrastructure development will not have an optimal impact if it is not accompanied by an improvement in the quality of the people who utilise it. “There is no other way to make human resources rise, only through education,” said Ribka in a written statement on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Ribka made the statement while attending the GenIUs Expo 2026 at the GenIUs School Ballroom in Tangerang Regency, Banten, today. Ribka appreciated the role of GenIUs School, which she assessed has contributed to preparing an excellent and competitive young generation, especially for the Papuan generation. She considered the various programmes run by the school to be in line with the national development agenda, particularly in preparing human resources for the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. Ribka admitted she was impressed by the various works and innovations displayed by the students in the exhibition. She assessed that the students have been accustomed to learning and working with a data-based and research approach. This, she said, indicates that the education provided is on the right track in preparing the nation’s future cadres. “How to prepare human resources to achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia … The human resources aspect is the first priority in building Indonesia into a developed and developing country,” she explained. Ribka also paid special attention to efforts to improve the quality of education for Papuan children. She appreciated the commitment of GenIUs School which has opened access to education for Papuan sons and daughters. According to her, the opportunity to obtain a good education can bring significant changes to the future of Papuan children. She admitted to seeing firsthand the development of students who previously faced various limitations, but now have greater confidence, insight, and aspirations after studying at the educational institution. “We hope that the governors and regents will continue to provide support, and hopefully many more Papuan children can attend school here, so that they are prepared, because we truly want to see a change,” she concluded. The forum was also attended by the Director of Secondary and Special Education Teachers at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) Arif Jamali Muis, Professor at Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) Yogyakarta Prof Rully Charitas Indra Prahmana, Founder of the GenIUS Education Foundation Bambang Prayitno, and other relevant officials.
