Islamabad (ANTARA) - Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday (19/4), briefing Pezeshkian on his recent visit to the Middle East, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. In the 45-minute phone call, Sharif informed the Iranian leader about his recent engagements with regional leaders, including those from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey. He emphasised that such interactions are crucial for building consensus and bringing sustainable peace to the war-torn region. Sharif thanked Iranian officials for their constructive discussions with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, during his recent visit to Tehran. The Pakistani Prime Minister began his Middle East visit on Wednesday (15/4) after Pakistan hosted the first round of Iran-United States negotiations over the previous weekend. He reaffirmed to the Iranian leader that Pakistan remains fully committed to its efforts to promote regional peace and security.
