Vespa Sprint and Primavera: The Backbone of Sales in Indonesia
Jakarta — Vespa models such as Vespa Sprint and Primavera remain the backbone of sales for PT Piaggio Indonesia, with their contribution reaching more than 60 per cent of total national sales.
Managing Director and Country Chief Executive Officer Marco Noto La Diega stated that this trend has been ongoing for several years, with the Sprint model being the most dominant within the product line.
“In 2025, the market is dominated by Vespa Sprint and Primavera, which is indeed customary. Models such as Primavera, Primavera S, Sprint, Sprint S, and Sprint Tech collectively contribute more than 60 per cent of our national sales,” Marco said during a launch event on Monday (16 March 2026).
“Because their size is somewhat larger, whilst the LX is smaller and not everyone wants that, but it is also not as large as the GTS. So this is the core of our sales,” he added.
Marco further noted that this trend is predicted to continue in the future, especially as Vespa introduces larger engine upgrades across its product lines.
Piaggio Indonesia officially launched five new models from the Vespa Primavera and Sprint lines in Indonesia on Monday (16 March 2026). The models introduced include Vespa Primavera, Vespa Primavera S, Vespa Sprint, Vespa Sprint S, and Vespa Sprint Tech.
The most significant change in this new generation lies in the engine sector. All models now use the new i-get engine with a capacity of 180 cc, an increase from the previous 150 cc engine. The 180 cc engine delivers increased power and torque, making the riding experience more enjoyable. Additionally, colour refreshes and new features are part of Piaggio’s efforts to keep Vespa looking distinctive.
