Vespa Sprint and Primavera 2026 Remain CBU from Vietnam
Jakarta — PT Piaggio Indonesia has clarified that the newly launched Vespa Sprint and Primavera 2026 models are not yet manufactured in Indonesia. Both models remain fully imported (CBU) from Vietnam.
Managing Director and Country CEO of PT Piaggio Indonesia Marco Noto La Diega stated that the factory in Indonesia is currently producing other models, with production focused on the Vespa LX, which has undergone engine upgrades.
“No, this model (Primavera and Sprint 180) is not produced locally. What we produce at our factory is another Vespa model, the LX. The LX, which was previously 125cc, has been upgraded to 150cc,” Marco said during the launch event on Monday (16 March 2026).
Furthermore, Vespa’s factory in Indonesia is currently being prepared for the development of future products, signalling the arrival of new models that will be assembled locally.
Regarding which specific product this will be, Marco has not yet disclosed the model. However, it is expected to come from product lines of the Piaggio group, such as Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, and Moto Guzzi.
