Jakarta — PT Piaggio Indonesia has launched a total of five new-generation models of its flagship Vespa Primavera and Sprint scooters in Jakarta on Monday.

Rather than a mere cosmetic refresh, the new models—comprising Vespa Primavera, Vespa Primavera S, Vespa Sprint, Vespa Sprint S, and Vespa Sprint Tech—feature an entirely new engine upgraded to 180 cc, delivering greater power than the previous 150 cc variant.

“The 150 cc engine will be replaced; this represents an evolution of the Vespa Sprint and Vespa Primavera, both standard and S versions, as well as the Tech variant, which will now be equipped with 180 cc engines from this point onwards,” said Marco Noto La Diega, Managing Director and Country Chief Executive Officer of PT Piaggio Indonesia.

“We will certainly continue to provide servicing for the 150 cc market, but new models from now on will be equipped with the 180 cc engine,” he added.

Notably, despite the larger engine capacity, Marco stated that the pricing for the new generation Primavera and Sprint remains unchanged from the previous generation.

According to the official Vespa Indonesia website, the new standard Primavera is priced at IDR 55 million, whilst the S variant is sold at IDR 57.5 million.

The standard Sprint variant is priced at IDR 58.5 million, the S variant at IDR 61 million, and the Tech variant at IDR 66 million.

Beyond the new 180 cc engine, which delivers improved power and torque, these models also feature refreshed colours, updated speedometer design, and several new features.

Marco noted that this represents the first Vespa to utilise a 180 cc engine, with Indonesia becoming the first country to receive it.
