JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The verdict hearing in the alleged incitement case arising from the August 2025 demonstration that implicated four defendants—Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, Muzaffar Salim, Syahdan Husein, and Khariq Anhar—took place at the Central Jakarta District Court, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Friday (6 March 2026). The judge is to decide the defendants’ legal status at the session held on Friday afternoon. At 14:20 WIB, the four defendants had entered the courtroom and appeared in all-black clothing. One defendant, Khariq Anhar, drew attention by wearing a straw hat identical to the character Luffy in the cartoon One Piece. ‘In fact, in the facts of the case, that has nothing whatsoever to do with it. We are One Piece fans; it is just a subculture of today’s youth,’ he said. Meanwhile, the other three defendants—Delpedro Marhaen, Syahdan Husein, and Muzaffar Salim—did not wear hats like Khariq. At the back of the defendants’ chairs in the courtroom, there was a pink banner bearing the words ‘Makin Ditekan, Makin Melawan’. In the same moment, Delpedro Marhaen insisted that whatever the judge’s decision, he and his colleagues would not be afraid. ‘Whatever the decision, whatever the outcome, we will not be afraid. May this be a good example for cases of political detainees. The more pressure, the more we resist,’ he said. ‘Whatever the decision. It certainly will not change our stance. When we were arrested, we were leaders. When in prison, we were leaders. And when we are free, we will still be leaders,’ he added. The charges apply to Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, Muzaffar Salim, Syahdan Husein, and Khariq Anhar. ‘We, the public prosecutors in this matter, having regard to the relevant provisions of the law, on behalf of the state, charge the Panel of Judges of the Central Jakarta District Court that is hearing and trying this matter,’ said the public prosecutor. ‘Sentencing the Defendants I Delpedro Marhaen Mansyah, II Muzaffar Salim, III Syahdan Husain, and IV Arik Anhar to two years’ imprisonment, reduced for time already served in custody,’ the prosecutor continued. The prosecutor also demands that all four defendants be detained in the state dormitory (penitentiary) immediately. In the indictment, the prosecutor stated that the defendants were proven beyond reasonable doubt to have participated in incitement in public, both orally and in writing, to induce others to commit a crime or to oppose the authorities by violence. The act is considered to violate Article 246 in conjunction with Article 20C of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the KUHP.
