The verdict hearing in the alleged Chromebook corruption case involving two former subordinates of ex-Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim will be held on Thursday, 30 April.

The two former subordinates of Nadiem are Sri Wahyuningsih, who served as Director of Primary Schools at the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education from 2020 to 2021, and Mulyatsyah, former Director of Junior High Schools at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in 2020.

“As planned, the verdict will be read on Thursday, 30 April 2026,” said the Chief Justice of the panel, Purwanto S. Abdullah, after the duplicate session at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday (27/4).

In this case, Sri Wahyuningsih and Mulyatsyah are each demanded a six-year prison sentence. Both are also demanded a fine of Rp500 million, subsidiary 120 days in prison.

Mulyatsyah is additionally demanded to pay restitution of Rp2.28 billion, subsidiary three years in prison.

The defendants, along with former Minister of Education Nadiem Makarim, are accused of causing a loss to state finances of Rp2.1 trillion in the alleged corruption case.

This figure stems from the overpricing of Chromebooks amounting to Rp1,567,888,662,716.74 (Rp1.5 trillion) and the procurement of unnecessary and unbeneficial CDM worth US$44,054,426 or approximately Rp621,387,678,730 (Rp621 billion), with an exchange rate of Rp14,105 per US dollar.

The losses are based on the audit report on the calculation of state financial losses number PE.03.03/SR/SP-920/D6/02/2025 dated 4 November 2025 from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPKP).
