REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA - The verdict hearing against former Sleman Regent Sri Purnomo in the 2020 tourism grant corruption case has been postponed. The postponement was decided by the panel of judges during the trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at Yogyakarta District Court on Thursday (23/4/2026).

The Presiding Judge, Melinda Aritonang, stated that the hearing will be reconvened on Monday, 27 April 2026. “We postpone it to Monday, 27 April. So, if it’s read out on Monday, the decision can be finalised immediately,” said Presiding Judge Melinda Aritonang on Thursday.

The postponement was made because there are still several aspects of the decision that need to be corrected. The panel of judges also ordered Sri Purnomo to remain in custody until the verdict hearing takes place. The agenda for reading the verdict is scheduled for 09:00 WIB.

“Because there are several things that need to be corrected and perfected, we postpone it to Monday,” she said.

Sri Purnomo’s legal counsel, Soepriyadi, admitted to being surprised by the postponement. Despite this, their side along with the defendant were ready to hear the decision from the panel of judges. “We were ready in body and soul,” said Soepriyadi.

“Whatever decision the Panel of Judges will deliver, the essence is that Mr Sri Purnomo was already ready in body and soul earlier, and we as legal advisors were also ready,” he added.
