JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The panel of judges of the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakarta Pusat) has scheduled the reading of the verdict in the case of alleged incitement to demonstrate in August 2025, involving defendant Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, Director of the Lokataru Foundation, on Friday (6 March 2026).

In addition to Delpedro, the verdict will also be read for three other defendants in the same case: Muzaffar Salim, Syahdan Husein, and Khariq Anhar.

‘The verdict will be read next on Friday. The session will resume after Friday prayers, at 14:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB),’ said the presiding judge Harika Nova Yeri during the defence duplik hearing at PN Jakarta Pusat, Kemayoran, on Wednesday evening (4 April 2026).

She said she and the other defendants have presented all their defences, including statements in examination, calling witnesses, reading their pleas, and submitting amicus curiae statements from a number of figures.

‘The verdict will be read on Friday at 14:00 WIB. People can attend in solidarity. We also hope the court will read and consider the contents of the amicus, our pledoi, and our evidence,’ Delpedro said.

‘Thus the panel can decide the case as fairly as possible and we hope to be acquitted of all charges,’ he added.

Delpedro noted that the amicus curiae for the four defendants came from a dozen figures, including constitutional law professor Sulistyowati Irianto, former KPK chair Bibit Samad Rianto, legal scholar Bivitri Susanti, and former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD.

In addition, several student activists and the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) also submitted amicus curiae statements.

‘From all these amici curiae, in substance, they say this is part of freedom of expression and they hope we will be freed,’ Delpedro said.

‘Thus we thank the various parties who have submitted such amicus curiae statements,’ he added.

Amicus curiae serve to provide legal opinions or insights to help the court understand various aspects of the case.

However, an amicus curiae only offers opinions and does not oppose or file claims.

Previously, in the indictment hearing on Friday (26 February 2026), the public prosecutor (JPU) of PN Jakarta Pusat charged the defendant in the case of alleged incitement to demonstrate in August 2025, Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, with a two-year prison sentence.
