A 30-year-old Brunei national, MHF, died after allegedly being assaulted by fellow Brunei social media influencer Muhammad Irman Ali, known as Woodyrman (33), in the Blok M area of South Jakarta early on Wednesday (6 May 2026). The case went viral on social media after CCTV footage showed the victim and suspect arguing on the roadside. The victim underwent intensive care for 10 days before passing away. The incident began when the victim, along with friends, was chatting in front of a minimarket near their hotel in Blok M. Shortly after, Woodyrman arrived carrying a paper bag suspected to contain glass bottles. The two exchanged words before the conversation turned into a quarrel. Jakarta Metropolitan Police spokesperson Budi Hermanto stated that the initial argument at the minimarket moved across the road to the side of the victim’s hotel. CCTV footage circulating on social media showed several people attempting to intervene as the two began physical contact. “The suspect allegedly struck the victim once on the head with a paper bag containing glass bottles, causing him to fall,” Budi said during a confirmation on Tuesday (26 May 2026). The victim, wearing a white T-shirt, fell from the pavement onto the roadside. His friends then took him back to the hotel before he was rushed to Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP). Police Commissioner Dimitri Mahendra of Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit said the victim sustained serious head injuries from the incident. “Medical records revealed a blow to the back of the head, haematoma in the left eye, and a collarbone injury on the left side,” Dimitri stated. After 10 days of intensive care, the victim was declared dead.
