Moscow (ANTARA) — The Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Venezuela and the United States have agreed to repair their diplomatic and consular relations after talks. “The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela announces that, after diplomatic talks with authorities of the United States, the two governments have decided to rebuild diplomatic and consular relations,” the communiqué released by Foreign Minister Yvan Gil said on Thursday. The Venezuelan government stated its readiness to begin a new phase of constructive dialogue with Washington based on the principles of mutual respect, equality of sovereignty among nations, and inter-state cooperation. “This process will contribute to strengthening understanding and opening opportunities for relationships that are positive and mutually beneficial. The relationship should bring social and economic happiness for the people of Venezuela,” the statement added.
