Velodrome-Manggarai LRT Ready to Operate, Fare Only Rp 5,000

The Velodrome-Manggarai LRT route was inaugurated today. The public can try the LRT with a flat fare of Rp 5,000.

The inauguration of the Velodrome-Manggarai LRT will be carried out by President Prabowo Subianto. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government proposed that the inauguration be held today, 26 August 2026.

After the inauguration, the LRT will immediately begin full operations for the public. LRT operating hours run from 05.00 to 24.00 WIB.

“Once it is inaugurated by the President, it will operate fully. The schedule is the same as the KRL schedule, from 05.00 in the morning until 24.00 WIB,” said Pramono in the Manggarai area, South Jakarta, Monday (24/8).

Pramono estimates that the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route can carry around 60,000 to 80,000 passengers in the initial phase. According to him, the number of passengers will increase significantly because the LRT’s reach is wider and connected to other public transport modes.

For now, the Velodrome-Manggarai LRT fare is only Rp 5,000. This temporary fare applies until October.

“So for the time being, until October, the fare will still use the existing flat fare, which is Rp 5,000 per journey,” said Pramono.

He explained that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is still reviewing the fare scheme for the Jakarta LRT after the transition period ends. A decision on the new fare is targeted to be set by October.

“Hopefully by October a decision can be made on what fare will be applied for the Jakarta LRT as a whole, which we will regulate together,” he said.

Pramono also mentioned that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a special fare scheme. During the trial period, 15 groups of people were exempted from travel fees, or free of charge.
