Bekasi — PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) recorded vehicle traffic leaving Jakarta through the Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) elevated highway surging by 101 per cent on five days before Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, coinciding with Monday, 16 February 2026.

“The significant surge in vehicle volume leaving Jakarta via the MBZ highway demonstrates that homebound traveller mobility has returned to high levels during the second wave of the peak exodus period,” said Desti Anggraeni, GM of Operations and Maintenance at PT JJC, in Bekasi on Tuesday.

She explained that according to traffic data, the volume of vehicles leaving Jakarta heading towards Cikampek via the MBZ highway was recorded at 44,075 vehicles, an increase of 101.33 per cent from normal traffic levels of 21,892 vehicles.

Meanwhile, vehicle traffic volumes heading towards Jakarta also increased, reaching 29,796 vehicles, up 26.01 per cent compared to normal traffic levels of 23,646 vehicles.

The company continued to urge road users traversing the MBZ highway to prioritise safety in order to support the smooth and safe flow of traffic.

Road users were asked to ensure both driver and vehicle conditions are in optimal state, maintain adequate electrical power and fuel reserves, and anticipate potential weather changes, particularly rain which could affect visibility and road surface conditions.

“Continue to prioritise safe driving so that your journey can proceed safely and comfortably until you reach your destination,” she said.
