Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk’s President Director, Rivan A Purwantono, stated that the volume of vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area from H-10 to H-3 of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, or the period of 11-18 March 2026, reached 1,483,703 vehicles. This figure comes from four main toll gates (GT): Cikampek (towards Trans Java), GT Kalihurip (towards Bandung), GT Cikupa (towards Merak), and GT Ciawi (towards Puncak). “The total traffic volume leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 30.1 percent compared to normal traffic of 1,140,021 vehicles,” Rivan said in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday. He added that the 1.48 million vehicles that have left Jabotabek represent 42.0 percent of the total projected 3.5 million vehicles exiting Jakarta during the period of 11-31 March 2026. For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards the three directions, the majority—788,710 vehicles (53.1 percent)—headed east (Trans Java and Bandung), 402,945 vehicles (27.2 percent) went west (Merak), and 292,048 vehicles (19.7 percent) headed south (Puncak). Traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java via the Cikampek Main Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road amounted to 523,223 vehicles, an increase of 132.4 percent from normal traffic. Meanwhile, traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Bandung via the Kalihurip Main Toll Gate on the Cipularang Toll Road was 265,487 vehicles, up 6.8 percent from normal traffic. The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung via these two GTs is 788,710 vehicles, an increase of 66.5 percent from normal traffic. Traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via the Cikupa Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 402,945 vehicles, up 4.7 percent from normal traffic. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek towards Puncak via the Ciawi Toll Gate on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 292,048 vehicles, an increase of 3.8 percent from normal traffic. Jasa Marga recorded that on H-3 of Eid 2026, or Wednesday (18/3/2026), the traffic volume leaving the Jabotabek area via the four main toll gates reached 270,315 vehicles, up 98.3 percent from normal traffic of 136,326 vehicles and up 4.62 percent from last year’s peak of 258,383 vehicles. To date, this figure is the highest traffic volume leaving Jabotabek during the 2026 Eid mudik flow. In response to the significant surge in traffic volume at the peak of the mudik flow, Rivan stated that traffic engineering in the form of a national one-way system and contraflow has been implemented at the discretion of the Police to maintain smooth mudik traffic. “To date, the one-way and contraflow traffic engineering is still ongoing through police discretion. This implementation is based on vehicle traffic volume data that has increased significantly from Jakarta towards Semarang, visual monitoring from CCTV, and reports from police officers in the field,” Rivan said.
