Vehicles Clog Kalikangkung Toll Gate as Phased Gate Opening System Implemented

Vehicles entered Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

Based on preliminary data from Kalikangkung Toll Gate Security Post (Pospam), the number of returning travellers on the Trans Java Toll Road Semarang-Batang section from Jakarta direction entering Kalikangkung Toll Gate heading to various regions in Central Java and East Java by 5 PM on the third day before Lebaran reached approximately 21,329 vehicles. In response to the congestion, PT Jasa Marga Semarang-Batang implemented a phased toll gate opening system to alleviate traffic density.
