Vehicle Volume on MBZ Toll Road Towards Jakarta Reaches 56,000 as Return Traffic Begins
PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek has recorded a significant surge in vehicle volume heading to Jakarta via the Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) elevated toll road during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow. Based on traffic data, the number of vehicles heading to Jakarta reached 56,611 units. This figure represents an increase of 139.41% compared to normal conditions, which only saw 23,646 vehicles. “This figure has increased by 139.41% compared to normal traffic,” said General Manager of Operations and Maintenance at Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek, Desti Anggraeni, in her statement on Tuesday (24/3/2026). Desti stated that this increase indicates the beginning of the public’s return movement to Jakarta after Eid al-Fitr. Meanwhile, 40,822 vehicles were recorded travelling in the opposite direction, an increase of 86.47% compared to normal conditions of 21,892 vehicles. Nevertheless, traffic flow is still dominated by movement towards Jakarta. This signifies a shift in traffic flow to the return phase. “Overall, the total number of vehicles passing through the MBZ elevated toll road section in both directions reached 97,433 vehicles,” said Desti. Drivers are urged to ensure they are in prime physical condition and that their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on their journey. Additionally, sufficient fuel or electric charge for electric vehicles should be ensured to avoid disruptions. Desti also warned of potential weather changes, particularly rain, which could affect visibility and road surface conditions. “This is to ensure the journey proceeds safely and comfortably until reaching the destination,” she said.
