Vehicle volume at Cikatama toll gate rises during toll fare discount

Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded an increase in vehicle volume passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (Cikatama) in Karawang, West Java, heading towards Jakarta, during the implementation of a 30 percent toll fare discount on the Lebaran 2026 return flow occasion.

Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that on Thursday (26/3), 21,000 vehicles entered the Cikatama GT during the first shift when the toll discount was in effect. Meanwhile, the traffic volume at Cikatama GT on Thursday night also experienced a surge.

The 30 percent toll discount was provided for continuous journeys from the Kalikangkung GT on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to the Cikampek Utama GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, from 26 March 2026 at 00:00 WIB until 27 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB.

“Road users benefiting from this toll fare discount have indeed shown an increase. We continue to monitor the developments because in shifts 2 and 3, there is an observed increase in traffic volume from Semarang towards Jakarta,” said Ria when met by ANTARA at the Jasamarga Cikatama GT office on Thursday (26/3) night.

Ria also mentioned that JTT implemented an adjustment in the number of booths from 15 to 18 at the Cikatama GT, done situationally, which also considers the vehicle flow from Jakarta to Trans Java, deemed still busy.

Furthermore, Ria expressed appreciation to the public as road users who utilised the 30 percent toll discount during the 2026 Lebaran return flow.

The implementation of the 30 percent toll discount on 26-27 March 2026 aims to help alleviate the density of the Lebaran return flow.

“Effective, we appreciate the road users, meaning they are willing to come at that time (the implementation of the 30 percent toll discount),” said Ria.
