Vehicle traffic to Puncak mountain resort remains smooth on H-7 before Eid al-Fitr
Bogor — Vehicle traffic heading to the Puncak mountain resort area in Bogor Regency, West Java Province, remained smooth on Saturday morning, seven days ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026.
The Head of Operations at the Bogor Police Traffic Unit, Iptu Ardian Novianto Azhari, stated that the number of vehicles exiting the Ciawi toll gate heading to Puncak recorded approximately 1,100 vehicles per hour by Saturday morning.
“Based on CCTV monitoring and field personnel reports, traffic flow remains relatively light. Data on vehicles exiting the Ciawi toll gate heading to Puncak shows approximately 1,100 vehicles per hour,” Ardian said at the Simpang Gadog Integrated Post.
He conveyed that police would implement one-way traffic management if the number of vehicles heading to Puncak reaches 2,000 vehicles per hour.
“Activity during Ramadhan is relatively reduced. Usually, increases are only noticeable in the late afternoon after 4:00 PM,” he said.
“In the late afternoon or after afternoon prayers, there will be an increase again, as people may go to markets or search for evening snacks,” he explained.
Therefore, Ardian explained, traffic management during Ramadhan is focused more on afternoon hours at six congestion hotspot locations: Pasir Muncang, Simpang Megamendung, Cisarua Market, Simpang Lokawiratama, Jatiwangi, and Gunung Mas.
Operation Ketupat 2026 in the Puncak area has entered its second day. During the operation, police monitor vehicle traffic in the area through CCTV, deploy officers for field monitoring, and analyse vehicle data passing through toll gates.
