Vehicle Traffic Through Kalikangkung Toll Gate Begins to Increase
The number of vehicles passing through the Kalikangkung toll gate in Semarang city began increasing on Saturday, 14 March 2026. Vehicle traffic was dominated by flows from the direction of Jakarta.
From Friday, 13 March 2026, at 06:00 until Saturday, 14 March 2026, at 06:00, a total of 23,486 vehicles passed through from the west. Meanwhile, from the opposite direction there were 16,361 vehicles.
At the Banyumanik toll gate, 29,521 vehicles were recorded moving towards the east. Vehicles travelling from the east towards Semarang city totalled 19,359.
“On the first day of implementation of the Operasi Ketupat Candi 2026, vehicle traffic entering Central Java through the Kalikangkung toll gate has already begun experiencing an increase,” said the Head of Public Relations Task Force for Operasi Ketupat Candi, Senior Commissioner Artanto.
He urged travellers to ensure their physical condition and vehicles are in prime condition before undertaking the journey. If they feel fatigued, they should stop immediately and rest.
“Take advantage of rest areas or service posts of Operasi Ketupat if you feel fatigued, and follow the traffic management measures implemented by officers for the smooth passage of your journey,” he said.
