JAKARTA — PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) recorded 44,075 vehicles leaving Jakarta via the Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) Expressway on the fifth day before Eid al-Fitr (H-5 Lebaran).

The figure represents an increase of 101.33 per cent compared to normal traffic volumes, which typically amount to 21,892 vehicles.

“Vehicle volumes heading towards Jakarta also increased, with 29,796 vehicles recorded, up 26.01 per cent compared to normal traffic levels of 23,646 vehicles,” said Desti Anggraeni, General Manager of Operations and Maintenance at PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek, in an official statement on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

The surge in traffic volumes reflects increased vehicular mobility among the public ahead of the Eid exodus period this year.

She urged road users to ensure that drivers and vehicles are in prime condition, maintaining adequate electrical power and fuel supplies. Drivers are also advised to anticipate potential weather changes, particularly heavy rain that could affect visibility and road conditions, ensuring safe and comfortable journeys to their destinations.

“To support the smooth and safe passage of journeys, PT JJC continues to urge users of the MBZ Expressway to prioritise safety at all times,” she stated.
