Vehicle volumes from Jakarta heading towards Bandung during the Eid 2026 holiday period are projected to increase significantly compared to the previous year. This surge is driven by an extended holiday duration and the implementation of more flexible work policies.

Senior Manager of Representative Office 3 Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, Agni Mayvinna, predicted that outbound traffic from Jakarta to Bandung during the period from H-10 to H+10 of Eid 2026 would reach 786,000 vehicles. This figure represents an increase of 3.3% from the Eid 2025 momentum, or a surge of 15.8% compared to normal conditions.

An even higher surge is anticipated in return traffic. Vehicles leaving Bandung heading towards Jakarta through the Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate are estimated to reach 790,000 units. This represents an increase of 16.1% from normal levels and a rise of 4.3% compared to the Eid 2025 period. Agni attributed the primary factor behind this increase to the extended holiday period, which stretches nearly three weeks.

“In addition to the longer holiday period, the implementation of work-from-home and work-from-anywhere policies provides people with greater flexibility to travel and visit relatives,” Agni said in Bandung on Sunday (15 March). She therefore urged the public to remain vigilant whilst driving, particularly during heavy traffic conditions.

On the Cipularang-Cisumdawu toll route, several critical points require attention from holiday travellers. Traffic congestion and vehicle queues are anticipated at various rest areas when parking capacity becomes full.

Critical rest areas on the Bandung-bound route experiencing congestion are predicted at kilometre 72 and kilometre 88. For return traffic, monitoring points are located at kilometres 125B, 97B, 88B, and the Dawuan junction. She added that vehicle congestion on the Cipularang Toll typically increases after 3:00 PM, coinciding with hotel check-out times and shopping for souvenirs.

She advised holiday travellers to monitor rest area conditions regularly and avoid stopping on the hard shoulder if parking areas are full. “The public is also advised to travel earlier, between 12:00 and 15:00, to avoid peak evening congestion,” she said.
