Vehicle traffic flow at Kalikangkung toll gate in Semarang increases
The head of security at the Kalikangkung toll gate in Semarang, AKP Dimas, reported that traffic flow has increased from morning through evening, averaging approximately 1,500 vehicles per hour. This represents a significant rise compared to Friday (13 March), which recorded between 900 and 1,000 vehicles per hour.
“Traffic has already experienced an increase, but it remains manageable,” Dimas stated.
According to him, the queue of vehicles exiting through the toll gate is not excessively long. With vehicle volumes at this level, toll operators have opened 17 toll booths for operations. In addition to eight main booths, the toll operator is also running nine satellite booths.
Within a week before Lebaran, Dimas noted, vehicles with three or more axles traversing the toll road from the western region have decreased significantly. “At several toll exit points, blockades have been implemented, so the number passing through the Kalikangkung gate has been considerably reduced,” he said.
A joint decision letter (SKB) regarding traffic management during the 2026 Lebaran transport period establishes a ban on vehicles with three or more axles from 13 to 29 March 2026. However, the regulation does not apply to certain freight vehicles, including those transporting petroleum fuel (BBM), liquefied petroleum gas (BBG), livestock, fertiliser, disaster relief aid, and essential goods.
