Vehicle traffic diverted towards central Jakarta during MRT Phase 2A works in Harmoni area
Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT MRT Jakarta (Persero) has implemented a traffic diversion aimed at the Kota area in line with traffic management for the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A CP202 project in the Harmoni area, effective from 25 May to 27 September 2026.
“Traffic management is being implemented to support the Harmoni Station construction works, which include excavation, station construction, construction of an underground road channel (underpass), and entrances,” said Ahmad Pratomo, Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Persero), in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
At the Harmoni junction, vehicles from Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Suryopranoto, and Jalan Ir. H. Juanda heading to Jalan Hasyim Ashari and toward the City are directed via Jalan Gajah Mada.
In the future, private vehicles will use two lanes on Jalan Gajah Mada during the traffic management.
Additionally, the Jalan Gajah Mada section after the intersection with Jalan Hasyim Ashari, which previously operated two-way, has been changed to one-way toward the City.
PT MRT Jakarta said the traffic changes are part of the construction phase of CP202 MRT Jakarta Phase 2A project, which includes the construction of Harmoni underground station, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar underground stations, and the tunnel from Harmoni to Mangga Besar.
PT MRT Jakarta together with the contractor Shimizu-Adhi Karya Joint Venture (SAJV) has coordinated with the Dinas Perhubungan DKI Jakarta and Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya regarding the traffic control.
MRT Jakarta also ensures installation of traffic signs, road markings, and street lighting to safeguard road user safety during the project.
Thus, PT MRT Jakarta (Persero) extends the traffic management in the Harmoni area, Central Jakarta, until 27 September 2026 to support the MRT Phase 2A CP202 construction works.
Earlier, Phase 3.2 traffic management ran from 1 January to 30 April 2026, later extended to 24 May 2026.
