Vehicle Name Transfer Cannot Be Done at Mobile Samsat, Here is the Traffic Corps Explanation
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Samsat Keliling or Samling service provides a practical solution for the public who wish to handle vehicle tax matters without visiting the main Samsat office. With service vehicles operating at various locations, taxpayers can now save time and avoid long queues. The presence of this service is very helpful, especially for people with high mobility who require a quick and efficient process. At Samsat Keliling, the public can make annual Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) payments and obtain STNK validation. After payment, the STNK’s validity period will be directly updated. In addition, the Mandatory Contribution to the Road Traffic Accident Fund (SWDKLLJ), managed by Jasa Raharja, is also processed in one go, further facilitating taxpayers. However, matters such as vehicle name transfer, five-year STNK extension accompanied by number plate replacement, inter-regional vehicle mutation, and vehicle blocking cannot be handled there. This is because such services require more complex administrative processes and verification. “Samsat Keliling cannot process name transfers; it must be done at the Main Samsat,” said Wibowo, to Kompas.com (14/4/2026). He also explained that services like vehicle blocking must be done directly at the main office. “The reporting process should be done because the blocking is carried out directly at the Main Samsat. Samsat Keliling only handles tax payments,” he said.
