Vehicle flow on Cikatama Toll Road to Jakarta surges on H+6 of Eid al-Fitr

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Traffic flow passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (Cikatama) in Karawang, West Java, was recorded to experience a surge during the return flow on H+6 of Eid al-Fitr 2026, on Friday. Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that on Friday (27/3), the traffic flow at Cikatama GT towards Jakarta was observed to reach the highest peak of 5,900 vehicles in the afternoon. “We see that the hourly traffic between 4-5 PM has reached 5,900. That is the highest traffic per hour for today, so there is indeed a surge in density in front of the toll gates,” said Ria, during a media gathering at the Jasamarga Cikatama GT office on Friday night. The implementation of traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek route will continue to be adjusted according to field conditions, such as preparations for implementing contraflow from one lane previously to two lanes at several points. In this regard, Jasamarga also appreciates the participation of the public in utilising the toll fee discount. Enthusiasm from road users is evident from the increase in the number of vehicles on Friday from morning to afternoon. “We greatly appreciate the road users for utilising the 30 percent toll fee discount. The enthusiasm in shift 1 reached 26,000, and by 6 PM it has already reached 54,000 vehicles, not including shift 3. Indeed, the surge is quite high for today,” she said. “Indeed, the route used by road users from Jakarta towards East Trans Java has become more reduced. We are making adjustments at Cikatama GT. At KM 72, road users will be directed to Cikopo,” she explained.
