Vegetable cold storage

JAKARTA (JP): The North Sumatra office of the Ministry of
Trade will install new cold storage facilities for vegetables
produced in the Karo regency, an official says.

"The trade ministry will build a cold storage facility at an
estimated cost of Rp 200 million (about US$90,900) in the Karo
regency, which is the main vegetable producing area in North
Sumatra," Ismaildin Wahab, head of the office, was quoted as
saying by Antara in Medan yesterday.

Ismaildin also said that the new facility is expected to
increase vegetable production for exports to neighboring Malaysia
and Singapore. (hdj)
