Ve Wong to invest in RI

TAIPEI (Reuter): Taiwan's Ve Wong Corp, one of the island's major food manufacturers, will invest in a US$20 million joint venture to produce monosodium glutamate in Indonesia, a company spokesman said yesterday.

Ve Wong decided at a recent board meeting to take 49 percent of the venture which is scheduled to have a monthly production capacity of 15 million tons, the spokesman said.

"We will soon finalize details with Indonesian counterparts for the venture. We hope to start production in two years," he said by telephone.
