VAT incentive ends, Xpeng prices rise by up to Rp100 million
Jakarta — Xpeng’s electric cars in Indonesia have undergone price adjustments in 2026 following the expiry of the government’s Value-Added Tax (VAT) incentive for electric vehicles. Hari Arifianto, VP Marketing of Xpeng Indonesia, said the latest prices are already published on the company’s official website, with increases ranging from about Rp 60 million to Rp 100 million. For example, the Xpeng G6, which was launched at Rp 619 million, now costs Rp 679 million. Hari added that price increases can reach around Rp 100 million for models such as the X9, which the company calculates as roughly 10% of Rp 1 billion. The response from consumers has been mixed, with some delaying purchases and others continuing to place orders, since they still require such a vehicle. He also emphasised there will be no price concessions for customers who placed orders in 2025; all 2026 purchases will follow the new prices aligned with tax rules. ‘There are no exemptions; this reflects the government’s obligations, while production prices for the vehicles themselves have not changed.’
