Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Kadin Indonesia Strengthen Business Ties
Jayapura, Jubi – The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) in Canberra, Australia, on Monday (23/2/2026).
The MoU was initially initialled on 14 October 2025 in Jakarta and subsequently signed officially by the Kadin Indonesia chairman. The signing by the VCCI yesterday represented the final step required to bring the agreement into effect.
The signing was witnessed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Australia and Indonesian Ambassador to Vanuatu, Dr Siswo Pramono.
The VCCI and Kadin Indonesia signed the MoU to enhance trade and investment relations, with a focus on sectors such as tourism, agriculture, fisheries, renewable energy and meat production, as well as plans for an Indonesian business mission to Vanuatu in May 2026.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Vanuatu, Dr Siswo Pramono, highlighted the MoU as the beginning of strong bilateral relations. Both parties emphasised collaboration, innovation and building resilient communities through shared objectives and mutual respect.
The VCCI delegation to Indonesia comprised entrepreneurs and business leaders from various sectors, aiming to drive growth and explore new business opportunities.
Both parties committed to ongoing dialogue and concrete actions to implement the agreement, with potential new trade initiatives in the future.
