Vance: US not cutting troop numbers in Poland, only delaying rotations
Washington (ANTARA) – The United States is not reducing troop numbers in Poland by 4,000 personnel, but instead delaying their rotation to the country, Vice President JD Vance said on Tuesday.
‘We are not reducing troop numbers in Poland by 4,000 soldiers,’ Vance told a press conference.
‘What we are doing is delaying the deployment of troops that were intended to be sent to Poland. This is not a reduction, it is merely a postponement of the rotation that is standard in situations like this.’
The Defense News portal reported in early May, citing unnamed military officials, that the US Army had canceled the deployment of the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division to Poland, comprising over 4,000 troops and their equipment. The source did not specify details about the decision.
