Vance: Conflict with Iran won’t be an 'endless war'.
Washington (ANTARA) — US Vice President JD Vance said on Tuesday that the conflict with Iran would not become an ‘endless war’, adding that US troops would return home after the mission is complete. ‘This is not an endless war. We will resolve this and go home,’ Vance told reporters. In March, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth rejected reports that the US risked becoming embroiled in an endless conflict in the Middle East. On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched strikes against a number of targets in Iran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East. On 7 April, Washington and Tehran announced a two-week ceasefire. Meanwhile, negotiations in Islamabad ended without results, and US President Donald Trump extended the ceasefire to give Iran time to submit a ‘comprehensive proposal’. Source: Sputnik/RIA Novosti
