Van der Horst to build oil pipeline in Bali

SINGAPORE (AFP): Singapore-based engineering firm Van der
Horst Ltd. announced yesterday that it had received an Indonesian
turnkey contract to build a US$75.2 million oil pipeline in Bali.

The project will involve the construction of an oil depot
extension, a new terminal and its adjoining pipeline in
Sanggaran, the company said.

Van der Horst said it had received the award from PT Ganergi
Gema Sukses, which has won the right to develop and build the
depot, terminal and pipeline project from Indonesia's state-owned
oil company Pertamina.

The project is part of Pertamina's masterplan to store and
transport fuel from selected strategic locations throughout
Indonesia.

Van Der Horst's three wholly-owned subsidiaries -- Van der
Horst Technologies Pte. Ltd., PT VDH Teguh Sakti and
Infrastructure Technologies International -- will be involved in
the project.

Van der Horst Technologies will handle engineering, automation
and consultancy services, VDH Teguh Sakti the construction work
and Infrastructure Technologies the procurement of imported
hardware and materials.

"This latest project follows our earlier successes in securing
the satellite depot development projects in Jakarta and
Surabaya," said Michael Oxborrow, group managing director of Van
der Horst Ltd.

"We are very glad to win these contracts as it reinforces our
reputation as a turnkey developer able to provide value-added
services in the areas of engineering and design consultancy in
addition to construction and materials procurement," he added in
a statement.

Van der Horst, listed on the mainboard of the Stock Exchange
of Singapore, is a service engineering and infrastructure
development group with three core businesses: infrastructure and
power, engineering services and manufacturing.
