Value of PSEL Danantara Projects in 3 Regions Reaches Rp 2.8 Trillion
The Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) has appointed two companies from China to build Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) facilities in Greater Bogor, Bekasi, and Greater Denpasar. Director of Investment at PT Danantara Investment Management, Fadli Rahman, stated that each of these three projects is valued between Rp 2.5 and 2.8 trillion. This amount remains within the initial maximum estimate of Rp 3 trillion per project. “The ownership structure is 70% for our partners and 30% for us at PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera),” he said during a discussion at Wisma Danantara on Thursday, 9 April 2026. Currently, the PSEL projects in Greater Bogor and Greater Denpasar are managed by Danantara’s Chinese partner, Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co. Ltd. Additionally, the Bekasi project is managed by Wangneng Environment Co., Ltd. Fadli stated that Danantara holds shares in each project. Funding for the PSEL construction is dominated by 70% loans and 30% equity. Nevertheless, Danantara views this as beneficial for the investment climate in Indonesia. Besides these three locations, Danantara previously considered Yogyakarta as a site for PSEL development. However, no suitable partner company has been found yet. Several negotiation aspects are still under consideration, including the project timeline. “We don’t want to choose a partner that would result in a prolonged factory construction period,” Fadli remarked. The projects aim to reduce waste accumulation at Final Disposal Sites (TPA) and integrate waste disposal systems. The electricity generated will be sold to PT PLN (Persero) at US$0.2 per kWh.
