Valspar opens base in Indonesia

JAKARTA: New York-listed paint and coatings company Valspar Corporation is building a US$1.2 million facility at the Soewarna Business Park, Cengkareng, to serve as its operational base in Indonesia.

Adam Sarson, Valspar's managing director for South East Asia, said the firm was optimistic about Indonesia's business prospects and with the project the firm expected to expand its customer base in the country.

The new facilities will cover an area of approximately 2,750 square meters at the business park.

Valspar, through its unit PT Valspar Indonesia, started doing business in Indonesia in 2001 selling coating products to the food and beverage can packaging industry. -- JP
