HELSINKI (Reuter): Finnish paper machine engineering company Valmet Oy said in a statement on Wednesday it would supply two paper machines worth one billion markka to Asia Pacific Resources International Holdings (APRIL).
"The paper machines will be delivered to Indonesia in 1997 and 1998," it said.
The annual capacity of the two machines will be about 650,000 tons of uncoated woodfree paper, Valmet said.
The machines -- with a design speed of 1,500 meters per minute and a width of 8.65 meters -- will be situated adjacent to the Riaupulp mill in Indonesia. "(They) are part of APRIL's strategy to utilize existing pulp producing capacity," it said.
The first will start up in December 1997 and the second in autumn 1998, Valmet said.
The paper machines will be manufactured in Rautpohja and Jarvenpaa in Finland. Stock preparation would be done in Tampere and air systems in Pansio. A part of the shoe press would be supplied from Karlstad, Sweden, it said.
