The Mataram City Health Department in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has stated that the meningitis vaccination service for prospective Hajj pilgrims from Mataram City for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE Hajj season has been completed 100 percent. Head of the Mataram City Health Department, Emirald Isfihan, said that all 854 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Mataram City for 2026 have received the meningitis vaccine. β€œThe meningitis vaccine is a mandatory vaccine that must be given to prospective Hajj pilgrims to enhance immunity and prevent disease transmission in Saudi Arabia,” he said on Friday (10/4/2026). He stated that the vaccination service was provided to pilgrims through 11 community health centres across Mataram City since March 2026. Pilgrims could choose the nearest community health centre to their respective residences. In addition to receiving the meningitis vaccine, prospective Hajj pilgrims also received the polio vaccine as one of the requirements for the Hajj pilgrimage and to prevent disease transmission in the Holy Land.
