VA to begin non-stop flights to Paris
HANOI: Vietnam Airlines said Monday it will begin daily non-
stop flights to Paris from July to tap the growing demand from
both the European and Vietnamese markets.
Currently, the state-run carrier has seven flights a week --
four from Hanoi and three from Ho Chi Minh City -- to the French
capital, but all flights stop in Dubai for refuelling.
Duong Chi Thanh, director of passenger marketing, said the new
direct services would use two leased Boeing 777s until the
arrival in August of the first of four similar aircraft ordered
in December 2001.
"We will start direct flights in early July because France is
a big market and there is a growing demand. With the big aircraft
we can transport a large number of passengers and offer them a
better service." -- AFP
