V-Kool to open RI outlets

JAKARTA (JP): V-Kool Franchise International is to open outlets in Indonesia under franchising agreements with local companies to meet the growing demand for its window coating films.

Andrew K.T. Kwan, director of V-Kool Franchise International, said here on Friday the company had formed a joint venture with a local company to manage the franchising business in the country.

The joint venture, PT V-Kool Indo Lestari, would act as its master franchisee in Indonesia, he told a media briefing.

Darma Eddi Salim, the president of the joint venture, said he hoped existing V-Kool agents would change their business relations into franchising contracts.

V-Kool is known for its automotive glass windows, especially high-class cars in Indonesia, but in other countries their products are also used for solar control, in condominiums for example, as well as antireflection electronic displays.

The product will compete with other, cheaper brands, such as Solarguard and Foliatech, which are also sold by retailers.(07)
