An Uzbek national, Sirqjiddin (39), fell victim to a scam by an unlicensed taxi driver at Soekarno-Hatta Airport while attempting to travel to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday (19/6/2026) when he was directed by the illegal driver.

According to Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Rachmad Wibowo on Monday (22/6), the victim was guided to a shadow terminal in the Kayu Besar area of Kalideres to continue his journey. At the location, Sirqjiddin purchased a bus ticket for IDR 1.2 million and also agreed to an additional transport fee of IDR 200,000, with the promise that he would be picked up from his hotel and taken to the departure point.

However, after waiting a considerable time at the hotel, the driver who had promised to collect him never arrived. Unfamiliar with the local situation, Sirqjiddin became confused and worried, ultimately seeking assistance at the police station.

Upon receiving the report, the Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately conducted checks and clarification at the ticket purchase location. The police then facilitated a meeting between Sirqjiddin and the bus counter owner, resulting in a full refund of the money paid. Furthermore, officers escorted Sirqjiddin directly to Kalideres Terminal to obtain an official ticket to Lombok at the correct price.
