Utut urges scientists' role in strengthening TNI weaponry
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of DPR RI Commission I, Utut Adianto, stated that the involvement of scientists is essential for strengthening the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), particularly in the development of weaponry. “If we want the TNI to be strong, we must have scientists capable of strengthening national weaponry,” Utut said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to him, Indonesia needs to become a nation capable of creating its own technology, not just as a user. He added that Indonesia is not in a position to enter into battles but must learn from the conflicts that occur. As long as the TNI is not yet strong, Indonesia remains in a peaceful concept. “We are grateful that we are not in a dangerous region for war. South of Australia, our ASEAN friends even consider us the class leader,” he said. “From all that, we will achieve peace through strength,” he added.
