Utut to face GM Anand

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's number one chess player GM Utut
Adianto is scheduled to face GM Viswanathan Anand of India in a
special duel.

"Utut performance was very impressive during his duel with
Hungarian GM Judith Polgar. And with Utut's victory over Polgar
in the last match, we are confident of Utut's capabilities," Eka
Putra Wirya, the Indonesian Chess Association training director
said.

Anand is ranked fifth in the world and is the only candidate
from Asia for the world chess title contest.

"Utut himself said he is ready to face Anand," Eka, who owns
the Enerpac chess school, said. (lnt)
