Ustaz in Pandeglang Allegedly Attacked with Machete as Students Clash
Usri, an ustaz from Rancapinang village in Cimanggu district, Pandeglang regency, Banten, was allegedly attacked with a machete while a group of students were involved in a clash. He said he was slashed on the back and hit on the head.
The incident took place on Jalan Kampung Sompok, Kramatjaya village, Cimanggu district, at about 11am on Monday (19 October). It began when two groups of students clashed at the location.
“There was a fight going on. As I was trying to pass, someone hit me on the head with bamboo. I got off [my vehicle], reacted by fighting back, and someone slashed me from behind,” Usri said on Tuesday (20 October 2026).
As a result, Usri’s helmet was damaged and his shirt was torn by a sharp object. He was relieved that the weapon had not injured his body.
“My T-shirt was slashed, but it didn’t cut through to my skin,” Usri said.
Usri has reported the incident to the police. He asked that, if the alleged attacker is found, they be counselled rather than prosecuted.
“If they find the person, just counsel them; don’t punish them,” he said.
Cimanggu police chief AKP Supardi confirmed the incident. He said officers had visited the scene and were investigating the case.
“The police station has only just received the report, and an investigation is under way,” Supardi said.
