USK Adds Five Professors to Strengthen Solutions for Acehnese Society

Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) Banda Aceh has added five new professors, bringing the total to 246, to strengthen innovation and solutions in various fields for the people of Aceh. The inauguration of these five professors is part of strengthening USK’s academic position as a centre for scientific development, said USK Rector Prof. Mirza Tabrani at the AAC Dayan Dawood Darussalam Building in Banda Aceh on Tuesday. The five professors inaugurated during the Open Session of the USK Academic Senate were Prof. Dr. Sulaiman, S.H., M.H.; Prof. Dr. Zahratul Idami, S.H., M.Hum.; Prof. Dr. Sri Walny Rahayu, S.H., M.Hum.; Prof. Dr. Teuku Muttaqin Mansur, M.H.; and Prof. Dr. Ners. Ardia Putra, S.Kep., MNS. He stated that the presence of these new professors provides academic strength for the campus, known as the ‘Jantong Hatee’ of the Acehnese people, in addressing the nation’s development challenges. ‘The position of professor is not the end of an academic journey, but the beginning of an intellectual responsibility to deliver real benefits to the wider community. USK belongs to the people of Aceh, and every piece of knowledge born from this campus must return as a solution to advance the region,’ he said. In the field of customary law, Prof. Dr. Teuku Muttaqin Mansur, M.H., made history as Indonesia’s first customary justice expert to emerge from USK, while Prof. Dr. Ners. Ardia Putra, S.Kep., MNS, contributed through a digital reporting system innovation to prevent violence against healthcare workers. ‘The role of professors must go beyond the classroom, and their expertise must be implemented for the public interest,’ he said. He noted that the 246 professors currently at USK consist of 179 professors in the sciences and 67 professors in the social humanities.
