The used diesel car market is seeing a price drop as a result of the increase in non-subsidised fuel prices for Pertamina Dex and Dexlite from 18 April 2026. Pertamina Dex is now priced at Rp23,900 per litre, up from around Rp14,500 per litre previously. Dexlite is now at Rp23,600 per litre, from Rp14,200 per litre. The price reduction will start to become apparent in one to two weeks. “Certainly, traders have already adjusted their purchase prices. If it’s not very noticeable now, it might be visible in one or two weeks,” explained Andi, owner of Jordy Motor showroom at MGK Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, quoted from Kompas.com on Monday (20/4/2026). For now, some people can still use the biosolar barcode for their private diesel cars. “Because we’re still observing the government’s response and some can still use the biosolar barcode. Later, if the biosolar barcode starts to specify the vehicle type, that’s when the price drop will be clear,” Andi added.
