Use gas for fuel
Use gas for fuel
From Bisnis Indonesia
Jakarta city buses are always overcrowded. This is accepted as an ordinary daily phenomenon by commuters, as long as they can get to their place of work on time. The condition is worsened by cigarette smoke puffed out by bus passengers. Not to mention emissions from the exhausts from cars, which contains lead. Accumulated lead is said to be detrimental to the nerves of the brain and make people become easily emotional.
My question is "why doesn't the Jakarta Administration do anything significant to improve the transportation condition?" A minister of the present cabinet once said that the reason why the bus company has to take as many passengers as possible is that the bus fair is too low. Besides, private cars, which keep increasing, contribute to traffic congestion in Jakarta. Therefore, underground trains are thought to be the best alternative.
In the meantime, some people opine that the use of gasoline is one of the components which has caused the high operational cost of public buses. Then why don't we use gas fuel instead, which is more economical than gasoline and at the same time causes less pollution. Some taxis have used this kind of fuel. If this experiment succeeds, the use of gas can be extended to other vehicles and private cars. And the Department of Industries can direct the automotive industries to produce cars which will be fueled by gas.
